The Guvnors Tip: Better luck coming up for Rory Rocket!

So, yesterday was a bit of a rough ride, hitting the runner-up spot again—second place, just like last time. But hey, that’s racing for you. Today, I’ve got my eye on Rory Rocket in the 5:18 at Goodwood. Regular jockey Tom Queally can’t quite handle the 8st 13lbs, so Jason Watson steps in. Fingers crossed, this lightly raced three-year-old can finally get that elusive maiden win at his sixth go.
Conditions look good—pretty much on the easy side of good. Last time out here over course and distance, Rory was just half a length behind in second, and he was carrying a 3lbs higher mark, which isn’t bad at all. Plus, the third-place finisher was more than two lengths behind, so he was travelling well. The track’s also favoring those drawn near the stands’ rail, which should help on what’s forecasted to be soft ground.
Now, there's a horse called Think Of A Name, who’s 1lb better off with Rory. But he’s racing at Windsor tomorrow night, and honestly, there’s some doubt whether he’ll even turn up. If he does, he could be the main challenger, but Rory Rocket impressed me last time, and I’m keen to see him finally break through today.
My bet? 2 points win - Rory Rocket (Nap) at 3/1 with most firms. Let’s hope we get the win this time!
