Hey everyone, it’s a cracking day of racing and I’ve got two absolute standouts to help you nail your bets. With some top-quality fields, it’s all set for some exciting action. Here’s what I’m focusing on today:
1. Damysus at Newmarket (1.15pm)

This three-year-old from the John & Thady Gosden yard has been catching the eye lately. He’s shown plenty of promise in trials and ran a solid race in the Dante at York earlier this season. His Derby effort didn’t go his way—probably the track and some unruly moments in the stalls—but forget that one.
Damysus bounced back in style in France, winning a listed race convincingly in August, showing more speed and power than before.
Connections have opted to stay closer to home, skipping the Arc, and the drop back to nine furlongs should suit him perfectly. He’s got a real chance to step up into Group 1 company soon, and I think he’s got a great shot to win today.
2. Per Contra at York (2.05pm)

This consistent performer is in good form for trainer Tim Easterby, who’s been racking up winners across the north all season—already hitting 120 wins to date. Per Contra was second of 15 in a handicap over this course and distance (6/1) just 49 days ago, and he followed that with a decisive win at Newcastle in an 11-runner handicap (4/1) only 13 days back.
He relishes these conditions and should go well again. Though he’s not without competition, his recent performances suggest he’s a strong contender. Expect him to be right in the mix.
My Two Big Picks for Today:
Damysus (1.15 Newmarket) – 2pts win at Betfair SP
Per Contra (2.05 York) – 1pt win & 1pt place (1-2-3-4) at Betfair SP
Good luck to everyone out there!
