Looking for some winning football bets for Saturday, September 20th? We've got you covered with our top five selections.
Our advice is to place five individual bets—this way, you only need three to come in to turn a profit. To maximize your chances, consider backing each team with 2 points, preferably on the Betfair Exchange for the best odds on singles.
Additionally, to boost your potential returns, we recommend placing a small 0.25-point accumulator (acca) on all five teams. The best odds for this accumulator can be found at the end of the post. Around 50/1!! 3:00pm. Premier League
West Ham vs Crystal Palace
- Crystal Place to Win
- Exchange odds: 2.38
West Ham’s struggles continue as they prepare to host Crystal Palace in the Premier League, with the Hammers having lost four of their five matches this season and conceding a concerning 14 goals in that span. Their home form has been especially poor in 2025, with just two wins and eight goals conceded in two home games, and they’ll be without the suspended Tomas Soucek. In contrast, Crystal Palace remain unbeaten this season across all competitions, including a win over Liverpool in the Community Shield, and have conceded just one league goal. The visitors have been solid on the road, defeating Aston Villa 3-0 and drawing at Stamford Bridge, while also boasting a strong record at West Ham’s ground unbeaten in their last six visits. Although Palace’s attack has lacked fluency at times since Eberechi Eze’s departure, their compact and aggressive midfield has helped them control games, and with West Ham faltering at both ends of the pitch, the Eagles appear well-positioned to take another three points in this London derby.

Brighton vs Tottenham
- Brighton to Win
- Exchange odds: 2.38
Brighton appear well-positioned to secure a win against Tottenham, with recent form and historical head-to-head results leaning in their favour. The Seagulls have won three of their last four Premier League clashes against Spurs and achieved the double over them last season. At home, Brighton has been formidable, unbeaten in two this season and recently beating Manchester City 2-1 after coming from behind, a testament to their resilience and tactical sharpness. Meanwhile, Tottenham, who looked fatigued and unconvincing in their midweek Champions League win, may struggle against Brighton's fluid, possession-based style. Spurs were recently outplayed by Bournemouth, posting a very low expected goals figure, and Brighton could exploit similar weaknesses. With more preparation time, strong home form, and a favorable recent record winning four of the last six home meetings against Spurs/Brighton, has every reason to be confident. A narrow but deserved home victory looks likely.

Sheffield United vs Charlton
- Sheffield United to Win
- Exchange odds: 1.92
Sheffield United have endured a dreadful start to the season, losing all six matches, but the return of Chris Wilder for a third spell in charge could be the turning point they desperately need. The sacking of Selles, whose tenure failed to inspire, has brought a wave of optimism back to Bramall Lane, with Wilder’s strong character and proven track record expected to galvanize the squad. Historically dominant at home against Charlton, winning four of their last five meetings there, United now have a golden opportunity to secure their first points of the campaign. Charlton, meanwhile, arrive in poor form themselves, failing to win any of their last five games and struggling both defensively and in attack. With the timing of this fixture favouring the hosts, all signs point toward a much-needed Sheffield United win and potentially a big one to kick-start their season.

Plymouth vs Peterborough
- Plymouth to Win
- Exchange odds: 1.89
Plymouth appear to be turning their season around after a poor start, having now won three consecutive matches, including impressive victories over strong opponents like Luton and Stockport, scoring nine goals in those games. Their form at Home Park is notably stronger than on the road, making them a difficult side to face on their own turf. In contrast, Peterborough sit bottom of the table, having lost six of their eight league matches and all four of their away games, conceding at least two goals in each. While Peterborough have shown slight improvement with a recent win over Wycombe, their defensive frailties persist, having allowed ten goals in their last four outings. Plymouth, clearly building momentum under Tom Cleverley, are well-positioned to capitalize on home advantage and continue their resurgence with another win.

Manchester United vs Chelsea
- Chelsea to Win
- Exchange odds: 2.72
Manchester United will host Chelsea in what promises to be a brilliant Premier League clash. While Chelsea has struggled to win at Old Trafford in recent years, their current form suggests they could finally break that trend. Despite a shaky start in some games, Chelsea’s improved tactical discipline, attacking depth, and strong midfield control make them favorites against a struggling Manchester United side. United, once dominant in fixtures like this, are now plagued by scoring troubles and defensive vulnerabilities, and their squad changes have yet to yield consistent results. Chelsea, eager to bounce back from a recent Champions League loss, looks better equipped to exploit these weaknesses and secure a valuable away win. Many experts are backing Chelsea to continue their unbeaten league run and take advantage of Manchester United’s ongoing struggles.
The odds for the ACCA come out at around 50/1. Please see list of bookies' prices below:
